The web and social media make the job of protecting and defending reputation much harder. Existing threats are amplified, new threats introduced and angry customers, aggrieved employees, bloggers and activists can dismantle your hard won good name and image instantly.

Charlie Pownall, author of Managing Online Reputation (Palgrave Macmillan, 2015), will set out a framework for defining and assessing the reputational risks of the social web, introduce a methodology for assessing and formulating responses to threats when they occur, and examine recent examples of how companies have handled and contained potentially damaging issues and incidents online.

Charlie Pownall is Managing Director of communications and reputation consultancy CPC & Associates. He draws on twenty years’ experience in public relations, government communications, advocacy and digital/social media marketing to advise companies, public sector bodies and individuals to protect, manage and defend their reputations.
