Maureen Thurston-Chartraw, Global Director, Design to Innovate at Aurecon, will share a few stories from her roles at Aurecon and Deloitte where she had the executive mandate to ‘change the way professional services are experienced.

The path to innovation is design, and in her 45 minute presentation followed by Q&A, Maureen will explore how to think and work like a designer as a means to help prepare your organisation to be future ready.

Research shows that companies who employ design thinkers simply perform better. So come and awaken the design thinker in you.

This session will inspire you with a recognition of what you already know and help you start to visualise not only where you want to be but also how to get there.

About the speaker:

Maureen is recognised globally as a leading design thinking expert. She plays at the intersection between business strategy, creativity and culture, leveraging design as an asset and an instrument to assist with:

  • Imagining what’s possible
  • Inventing new value
  • Igniting enterprising spirits

Over her career, Maureen has watched creativity and imagination suffocated by bureaucratic, process-driven mandates that keep people and organisations from achieving their full potential. Maureen believes the time has come for everyone to embrace their capacity to become design thinkers.

She is the Chair of Design Australia and an Adjunct Professor at UTS, an industrial designer, educator, entrepreneur and author, and has more than 30 years of experience capturing the aggregate value of design.
