The next book in ICON’s book club is Smarter Collaboration: A New Approach to Breaking Down Barriers and Transforming Work by Heidi Gardner and Ivan Matviak, with special guest, Lara Wentworth of Coaching Advocates.

As Harvard professor Heidi K. Gardner and senior executive Ivan A. Matviak show, firms that collaborate smarter consistently generate higher revenues and profits, boost innovation, strengthen client relationships, and attract and retain better talent.” Booktopia

Released in November 2022, this builds on Heidi Gardner’s 2017 work Smart Collaboration. Her work explores how to collaborate effectively and shows that when done well, it leads to strong business performance across a number of metrics. And what better way to discuss this book than with a collaboration ourselves!

To help us get the most from Smarter Collaboration, Lara Wentworth, co-founder and director of Coaching Advocates, will join our discussion, sharing insights, applying the concepts and principles set out in the book in her work as a coach and leadership facilitator. Lara was formerly a partner in a law firm, which combined with her coaching work, means she has genuine experience of the day-to-day practicalities and (dare we say it – challenges) of encouraging teams in professional services firms to collaborate effectively.

Don’t miss what will be a fantastic session exploring collaboration! Get reading, then join the discussion on 28th July.
