Designed specifically for junior marketers, ICON’s Next Step program equips the next generation of B2B professionals with the practical skills needed to succeed in the professional services sector. This program is carefully curated to aid early-stage marketers in taking the next step in their careers.

This year’s Next Step 2021 program will be a series of four virtual events aimed at ensuring everyone has the opportunity to continue learning and growing during this uncertain time. Each full series participant will also be assigned a mentor, who will provide further career guidance.

Here are some of the highlights:

  • Mentoring session with a senior practitioner, to support specific challenges
  • All sessions will be accompanied with L&D tools and checklists to support participants beyond the program.
  • Participants will have access to 10+ senior leaders and to a community that can help support them in their career journey

Session 1: Step into success; create value by managing up and working with colleagues effectively

Leadership development trainer and coach Louise Wakefield and Head of Marketing and Communications at Savills Lucia Serban will focus on team work and dynamics, self-leadership and how you can develop tools for your personal tool-box to work effectively in a range of work contexts and environments. 

Session 2: Stride towards your goals; drive results by being visible, persuasive and proactive

This session will deliver guidance from researchers working in professional services to help you hone your skills so that you can be more client focused and have the skills to research and analyse key industry and market trends.

Session 4: Take a short-cut: seasoned professionals tell 'What I Wish I’d Known'

Last year’s highlight session repeated! Get the benefit of years of experience without having to do the hard yards. Our panel discussion will cover what seasoned professionals wish they’d known when they were starting out, successes and key lessons, plus great tips and ideas for your career.

Session 5: Be guided by the best; underpin your growth with mentoring, coaching and developing your network

Participants will end the series with a mentoring discussion and the opportunity to receive advice to increase self-esteem and confidence, develop strategies for achieving career success and enhance your networks further with peers and senior practitioners.
